LIVEArt 3 Opening - 1st March 2010
Following on from the successful start of the LIVEArt series in 2009 we began this year with another art exhibition in the LIVE Centre on the evening of the 1st March 2010.
For the event in November we actually had more staff entries to our call than we were able to display in the LIVE Centre, so we continued the series with five more creative talents amongst RVC staff, and the artists exhibiting their work included Sue Dillon, Colin Howard, Tierney Kinnison, Susan Law and Patricia Latter.
The rather unique mix of artistic expression this time consists of water colour paintings, black and white photography, pencil drawings and silk painting on scarves, so vibrant discussions amongst the audience were guaranteed.
The evening was a great success and students, staff and the Principal very much enjoyed the friendly and LIVE-ly atmosphere at LIVEArt 3.
The exhibition also presented an opportunity to meet the RVC’s first artist in residence who has now started her residency at the College. Camilla Le May is a renowned artist with a passion for sculpting, and amongst various other tasks will also work with RVC students and staff to explore their broad creative potential.

We run LIVEArt as a series and are always looking for further artistic talent amongst students and staff, so please get in touch if you would like to be one of our next artists. We are especially keen to hear from all our students and residents!
The artwork will now be on display until Easter; leaflets with details on the artists, and their work are available in the LIVE Centre. Also available for a small donation to the ACT, are copies of Colin Howard’s ‘Looking East’ catalogue (please contact Martha Rodman).
