Kirsty studied for a BSc (Hons) in Geography at the University of Dundee and then followed this on with an MSc in Estuarine and coastal science and management at the University of Hull. She worked for the Experiential Learning Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the University of Plymouth from 2006 until August 2009 as a research and development officer.
Her interests lay in student and staff conceptions in the environmental and natural sciences of teaching and learning in varying learning environments, such as lectures, seminars, laboratory work, field work and work based learning. She was also involved in integrating technologies such as PDA's, into the teaching environment for staff to use with their students. Kirsty was also actively involved in developing blogs and wikis for staff to aid their teaching.
Kirsty began working at LIVE in Sept 2009 and works as a research assistant within the project, ‘Enhancing learning in clinical work placements,’ comparing methods of clinical training in the Royal Veterinary College and the School of Veterinary science in Nottingham, with a view to establishing best practice.
