Interprofessional communication can lead to errors

As part of a PhD regarding veterinary interprofessional teamwork, Tierney Kinnison (RVC) has identified veterinary communication as a possible source of error. The results have been published by the Veterinary Record (Kinnison et al, 2015) - details below. Error is used here in the widest sense to include any member of the team, any situation, and any outcome. The most likely outcome of error was inconvenience to the client and practice. The paper suggests that interprofessional education could be used to improve teamwork and reduce future errors.
