LIVE Plenary Speakers at AAVMC Conference 2017

Liz Armitage-Chan, RVC Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Education and tutor on LIVE's Veterinary Education courses, gave a Plenary lecture on the opening afternoon of the Annual Conference of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges in Washington this week.

Her presentation included recently acquired data on 'mindset to learning' in different areas of the curriculum, and explored strategies for supporting students to develop a growth mindset to professional reasoning.

Also presenting during the Plenary sessions was Professor Stephen May, who joined an international panel of speakers to talk about the hidden curriculum and its impact on diversity and student learning.

The conference was excellent, with themed talks on diversity and student admissions, and many opportunities to connect and share experience with educators from across the AAVMC membership veterinary schools and colleges.

The strong RVC presence continued with a presentation on the final morning given by Grace Sim and Jon Parry from the RVC Access team.
