Kirsty has more than seven years' experience as an educational researcher and has gained MSc qualifications in Social Research modules. She has experience of using qualitative research methods and is able to provide students with support and guidance for how to appropriately use these methods in a research environment. From July 2005 to August 2009 Kirsty worked as a research and development officer at the University of Plymouth, investigating learning across a range of scientific disciplines. From October 2009 to January 2012, Kirsty worked as a researcher at the LIVE centre on the Enhancing Clinical learning in the workplace project. Since February 2012, Kirsty is now the  Senior developer in Distance Learning for the MSc in Veterinary Education course; she designs and develops all of the online content for the modules on Moodle and is a course tutor and assistant examiner

Kirsty is particularly interested in exploring the role of educational technologies in helping to prepare students for the workplace and was awarded funding for a mini-project to develop a flexible learning resource for final year veterinary and nursing students, On-Line Induction Video Educational Resources (OLIVER) The resource went live on October 31st 2011.
